Wild Neighbors Nature Connection LLC
Birding for connection in New York's Adirondack Park and the surrounding region.
My Story
My name is Rich Hanlon. I'm a bird-nerd, a nature-nut, an Adirondack 46r, and a perpetual student of wild nature. I created Wild Neighbors Nature Connection in 2022 because I'm passionate about helping people cultivate in themselves an awareness of the natural world and because I love the Adirondack Park's diverse ecosystems and wildlife. I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and received my Environmental Studies degree from Penn State University in 2009. I've worked to facilitate nature awareness in various contexts during the past decade. Most recently I've led naturalist programming at The Wild Center, Malone Rec Park, and several other organizations in and around Franklin County, NY. In addition to my guiding work, I conducted a population survey of the rare Bicknell's thrush on Whiteface Mountain Ski Trails for Olympic Regional Development Authority, and my wildlife photography is on display at Ellea Pine Camps. I moved to Duane Center, New York in the spring of 2022 so I could call the Adirondacks home. I'm all about exploring creative ways to expand my awareness of nature's community and engaging in observation and study to deepen my understanding of Adirondack ecosystems and wildlife. I'm a nature awareness instructor, naturalist educator, and birding guide. I'd love to share the trail with you during your next Adirondack outing.
