Nature Awareness Training
Studies have shown that while nature disconnect is the cause of isolation resulting in compromised physical, psychological, and social health, nature connection results in an increased sense of well-being via strengthened connections with self, with neighbors, and with one's home environment.
Wild Neighbors Nature Connection's Nature Awareness Training is a 6 module immersive educational experience through which an individual is guided to unlock within themselves the skills of nature observation, to experience nature's community as a neighborhood, and to know themselves as participants in the ecosystems within which they live. WNNC's Nature Awareness Training is also an excellent way for young people to develop the skills to notice subtle changes in our environment and can really bring the concepts of natural selection and climate change to life through firsthand experience.
While participants are encouraged to dig deeper into individual areas of passion and interest, this nature connection journey is structured to help the individual to develop skills in the following areas:
-Wildlife Observation
-Reading the Landscape
-Interpreting the Soundscape
-Navigation
-Survival Strategies
-Exploring Nature's Relationships
Wild Neighbors Nature Connection's Nature Awareness Training is for individuals and for grade-level school groups from K-12.
