On my birthday, some of my favorites

From the largest whale to the smallest mosquito, we are all creatures of our God and King, beautifully crafted by Divine creativity; works of art 3.5 billion years in the making. Praise God!

On my birthday here are a few of my favorites:

The red-breasted nuthatch; a bird whose behavior is as bold as its facial markings which can often be discovered busily foraging in pine forests where it so skillfully traverses the trunks of trees producing vocalizations that sound akin to a truck's back-up-beeper.

The Timber rattlesnake; between it's appearance, it's toxicity, and the noise that rattle makes to warn of it's presence, to me this one is an incredibly beautiful and all around awesome animal that commands respect.

Squirrels, whether they be gray, red, fox, or other species; These acrobats of the rodent world are always a joy for me to watch as they jump, climb, and chase each other in the trees and on electric wires! One thing is for sure, squirrels have got character! I even enjoy feeding them as well as the birds in the winter months.
