Peace among waterfalls

I made a trip to Colton Point State Park this evening with the intent of finding a place to relax and be refreshed. I found one on a log balanced across a creek at the base of a waterfall that’s located off of one of the side trails of Turkey Path. Mostly it was a peaceful experience to rest on that log for an hour, but it was also an opportunity for me to get better acquainted with some of the living inhabitants of this captivating habitat. There was the winter wren, busily foraging for insects as it hopped over, around, and through logs and rock piles scattered along the banks of the swiftly flowing stream. There were the various species of insects flying about over the water even as high above it as the treetops. Then there was the very peculiar thing that seemed like some kind of plant/fern hybrid that had a very unique look and texture (there is a photo below). I need to do my research to figure that one out; then again maybe you know what it is (enlighten me please!)

I hope you enjoy the attached video and I hope that you are able to take to the forest to have your own moment of peace among waterfalls sometime soon.
